The only problem is that it hasn't aged gracefully. The original cutscenes are a jaggy, pixelated mess, and are very low quality. The only reason this didn't get a 5 Star rating from me, is because there either isn't an option to play in HD, or I just can't find it and I looked really hard. You can expand the game to fullscreen mode, but it still ends up looking fuzzy. It's still miles above the original, but for a pretty recent-ish game 2012 , the lack of HD visuals seems rather strange. Watch the anime for the experience, but play this for the full story. Honestly, what I can say about School Days that every other otaku hasn't said already? You either love it or you hate it. I was introduced to School Days with its anime adaption Again, you either love it or you hate it. When my former girlfriend now my wife told me that this anime was based on a computer game, I was intrigued. I was used to console games with only one or two endings. The idea of a game with many stories and endings was an amazing concept. As I played this game, I felt like I was watching the anime. The game itself is addicting and fully enjoyable. However, I have to say, for the sake of censorship, this is not a game for children. This game is 18+ for a reason. I do recommend this for all geeks, whether it's your first visual novel or your 100th. School Days HQ for me was pretty much as expected. A very long VN game with 22 endings and many choices. I bought this game after recently finishing the infamous anime, and let me just say, this is WAY better than the anime. The anime for me was painful to go through for many reasons, but this VN was a nice change of pace with situations that seemed realistic and tolerable. But to make it a long story short, if you sort of liked the anime but was unsatisfied with it, this game will certainly fill in that void with actual quality for the most part... Watched the anime and when I found out this game was the source material, I figured I'd like to try my hand at it being my first visual novel.
